UPDATES:

The next regular monthly meeting will be on October 21st.  We will have a limited number of seats (36) for members only which you can reserve using the SignUp Genius.  There will be a requirement of masks and seating will be 6' apart.  For non-members and those who prefer not to meet in person there will be a Zoom meeting option.  Links to the Zoom and SignUp Genius can be found on the "Members Only" page of this web site.  Non-members should contact the web master for instructions.

More good news for our SGC Members!  Although our members cannot personally assist residents at Bickford and Spring Arbor with fall and winter floral projects as is our normal procedure, we plan to offer two workshops and create lovely small arrangements which will be placed on their dining tables!  We will make 15 arrangements for each facility, 30 total, at each workshop.

Dates of workshops:  September 22, 2020

                                      December 2, 2020

Place:  Redeemer Church

Time:   2:00 PM

Bring:   Greens from gardens, clippers, etc

Please note:  Masks and 6' social distancing required!

Participation limited to 17 members (plus 3 co-chairs) at each workshop;  therefore, please sign up for only one workshop at this time in order to give more members opportunity to participate.  Advanced sign-up required. For Spring Arbor, please contact Jean Jordan at jjafta5@yahoo.com; for Bickford, contact Linda O'Mara at lindaomara1@gmail.com.

We look forward this opportunity to gather together again, catch up, and create beautiful arrangements for others to enjoy!

    * A Parallel Design is a creative design where there are three or more groupings are placed in a strong parallel manner.  Parallel direction may be vertical, horizontal, or diagonal.  There should be open[k1]  space between the groupings.  Units may be of one plant material, a combination of plant materials or each of a different plant material.  Design is in one container or containers combined so as to appear as one unit.

** The Novice Design class is for members who have never won a blue ribbon for a floral design during a club meeting.

*** A Collection is 5 or more exhibits that are of the same genus and/or species.  For example - 5 different types of cone flower that differ by species or color or form.  Each is to be exhibited in a separate glass bottle.

**** A Plaque is a two-dimensional design that is to be displayed vertically (i.e. -on an easel).  It must contain some plant material and that plant material is to be placed in a naturalist position, as opposed to an abstract manner.
