Community Outreach Projects
The Salisbury Garden Club is active in multiple Community Outreach Projects.
Through these projects, our volunteers provide floral designs and education to members of our community.
The Community Hospice House Entrance & Reception
SCG volunteers create a sense of beauty and serenity by making and delivering floral arrangements for the Hospice House entrance and reception area several times a year.
The Community Hospice House Monthly Flowers
In partnership with Trader Joe's, SCG volunteers utilize donated flowers to create 18 arrangements each month for individual patient rooms.
Veterans Art for the Journey
SCG volunteers provide creative activities with flowers and plants for veterans, many of whom are suffering from PTSD.
Garden Therapy at Bickford Senior Living Facility
SGC volunteers work with seniors at the Bickford Facility to help residents make decorative arrangements for their rooms using fresh and dried flowers.
Spring Arbor Senior Living
A new project for 2022 & 2023! SGC volunteers work with residents on 2 projects at Christmas and in the Spring to develop interest and enjoyment in floral design.

Spring Arbor Memory Care Facility
SGC volunteers help to stimulate memories of residents through the use of color and smell. Brightly colored flowers and fragrant plant materials are incorporated into simple gardening activities for residents.

Gardening Enrichment at Homework Helpers
SGC volunteers work with Homework Helpers, an after-school tutoring program, to provide gardening educational activities that are fun and instructive to elementary school students.

Graduation Flowers
In conjunction with Chesterfield County Schools, SGC volunteers provide large arrangements and boutonnieres for high school graduation exercises held at VCU's Siegel Center in May & June.
Southampton Elementary School
SGC volunteers provide education and mentorship through two gardening projects each year.
